Last 29th November the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) in close cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union to Myanmar organised a cluster meeting in Yangon with Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) involved in projects selected under the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Calls for Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE). Dr. Tran Dinh Lam from Ho Chi Minh University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCM-USSH) attended the Cluster Meeting on behalf of the ENHANCE project coordinated by the University of Alicante.

The main purpose of the cluster meeting, that took place at the Rose Garden Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar, was to give the targeted HEIs (Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam) a floor to create synergies, encourage contacts and networking activities in order to increase their impact within the CBHE action. At the same time, it was an opportunity to discuss with all the partners the various aspects related to their participation in the projects whilst making them aware of the challenges and the difficulties on project implementation. A poster presenting the main objectives of the ENHANCE project, field, impact and benefits was displayed in order to facilitate the networking.

The conference witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Ms. Milvia Van Rij-Brizzi – Head of Erasmus+ at EACEA, Mr. Kristian Schmidt – Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Myanmar, Prof. Myo Thein Gyi – Myanmar’s Minister of Education, Ms. Anila Troshani – Head of the Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education (CBHE) at EACEA and delegates from different universities in Europe such as Austria, Belgium, Finland, Italy and France alongside those in Southeast Asia such as Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
